The case itself has a completely fresh amount of air in less than 2 seconds due to the two case fans working as a balanced set moving 50-55CFM. Note - both CPU and GPU cooling depend totally on the ambient in-case temperature to do their respective jobs. Under normal conditions the case fans cannot be heard at all (like right now as I'm typing this reply and sitting with my ear about half a meter from the case front as all fans (except GPU's that are stopped) idle at 500-ish RPM) and under heavy load conditions the case fans can't be heard because the CPU cooler and the GPU's built-in fans totally override any case fan sounds. That actually worked out well (and I'm glad I had a spare shelf laying around my "storage room".).īecause the two fans that came with the case are sufficient for maintaining reasonable in-case air temperature (*) and also because they came attached to a hub that was NOT advertised with the case (a pleasant surprise when I was examining the just-unpacked case), the noise generated by the case itself is, like, nothing. I also mounted that shelf somewhat off the left of the file cabinet so it was over the gap between desk and file cabinet above the UPS. But after it arrived I saw the 5000D is so big I had to modify an old wood bookcase shelf to extend the back of the top of the file cabinet to fit the depth of the case. One thing about the case is it really IS big - at the time I bought it the plan was to NOT put the case on top of my main desk nor on the floor but instead on an adjacent 2-drawer wood file cabinet with a UPS between my desk and the file cabinet. The 5000D met those needs (and the NH-D15 fit with about 1.5 cm clearance from the left glass panel). There were more than simple size reasons, though, for choosing the case - I liked that there were fans already installed that were NOT RGB, there is filtered venting all OVER the case, and I wanted a case that I didn't have to struggle to fit things into it. I chose the 5000D case after choosing the NH-D15 air cooler for my CPU (i9-13900KF).
